Use leftovers
Often, an uneaten dinner is simply thrown away or put away to clear one’s conscience in a container that sits there for weeks until the next inspection of the refrigerator. And in vain.
Yesterday’s meal will save you from having to cook another lunch or dinner from scratch. Just heat it up in the microwave and eat it – it’s already boring and not so tasty. Try these other options instead:
Add leftover grains to soup or salad for added flavor and texture.
Stew yesterday’s side dish, say, rice, with butter, egg and vegetables: a few minutes – and lunch is ready.
Lightly brown the meat and vegetables in a frying pan, add cheese, lettuce and wrap everything in pita bread – you’ll get a beautiful improvisation on the theme of shawarma or burrito.
